Thankfully, we got a lot more done this lesson. We finished off the main picture, sorting out the rough lines. The magazine still looked a bit weird to me, but once we started adding things, like the text and the barcode, I felt a lot better about it. We decided to hold competitions such as "COMPETITION! Win A Free Signed iPod" (as the main picture is of me holding up a silver iPod), and "WIN! 2 Jonas Brothers Concert Tickets" under a picture of The Jonas Brothers (a new, well known pop band, that young people are sure to like (especially if they watch the Disney channel)). Competitions always excite readers, and we were confident that it would persuade them just that little bit more to buy the magazine. As a group, we decided that the magazines should come out monthly, with me and Nasima making the November Eddition. We included the date "1st - 30th Nov" and the price "£2.80" - as monthly edditions are always more expensive than weekly.
We came up with "Bring out the music in you," which is now our Strapline. We liked that it went with the Masthead "Melody," and was music related. It also sounds like a song from High School Musical ("You are the music in me"), which most young people will surely know, and therefore be able to relate it to.
There are a few finishing touches we need to make, and a bit more text, but all in all, I'd say we are pretty close to finishing the magazine cover.
